“MOM, where’s my green car?” OUCH! Found it!
This was the normal day to day conversation between my 4 year old and I BEFORE I found this great idea on Pinterest. I could have bought some (she sells them for $36 a piece), and if I didn’t have the time I totally would have. Instead I decided to check out the directions and figured with a quick trip to Bed Bath and Beyond and Lowes I could make them myself.
I bought two packages of these to make 3 shelving units. (You bracket two of the tiers together and with 6 tiers you can make 3 units.)
Then I purchased some brackets and screws from Lowes.
Having two extra hands is nice to help hold it together when you are screwing in the brackets, but I did manage to make a few solo as well.
The directions on her site are great and super easy. When I installed them to the wall I did use wall anchors…just in case he wanted to try and pull them down.
These shelves have saved my mind, as I would almost lose it when a bucket of 200 cars was dumped on the floor daily. These shelves have saved my FEET! One downside, they don’t always fit EVERY matchbox car. The bigger ones I put on the top shelf.
But let me tell you this…..THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO ORGANIZE MATCHBOX CARS!
